A video captured the scene of a wildebeest being controlled by a lion. It seemed that the antelope's fate had been decided, everyone thought it could only lie down and wait to die.
But thanks to tireless efforts and extraordinary will, the wildebeest still fought back fiercely. Despite the enemy still having its teeth sunk into its neck, the wildebeest still tossed the lion. This makes it extremely difficult for the lion to control its prey.
Finally, the wildebeest's tireless efforts paid off, the lion flew away after a long fight. Very quickly, the antelope took the opportunity to rush forward, pointing its sharp horns towards the lion because it knew it could not escape.
Faced with the unexpected situation, the lion had to “curl its tail” and run away. At this point, the antelope quietly retreated.
Wildebeests are gentle, shy herbivores but they are very strong. Their weapons are a pair of horns shaped like “curly braces”, expanding outward, then curving upward. Antelope horns are quite long, in males they can be up to 83 cm long.
Thanks to this weapon, wildebeests can choose to attack enemies to defend themselves instead of running away like other herbivores.
Even lions – the most dangerous predators in the savannah – can hold grudges when deciding to attack wildebeests.
